Terms of Service

1. The agreement

These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and MECA Engineering Solutions (OPC) Private Limited, 4th Floor, No. 19, Urban Vault, 18th Cross Road, Sector 7, HSR Layout, Bengaluru, Bengaluru Urban District, Karnataka 560102, India ("Allkept", "we", "us"), operating from India. They govern your use of the Allkept mobile apps, the Allkept Instagram account @allkeptapp, and the Allkept website at allkept.app.

By creating an Allkept account, by messaging @allkeptapp, or by using the app in any way, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Allkept.

Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your data and forms part of this agreement.

2. What Allkept is

Allkept collects things you have saved elsewhere into one private library, sorts them into categories automatically, and lets you search them.

Saves reach Allkept three ways:

• you send a post, reel or link to @allkeptapp on Instagram;
• you connect a YouTube playlist of your own and add videos to it; or
• you paste a link into the app, or share one into it from another app.

You can also bring in older Instagram saves by uploading the "saved posts" export that Meta gives you.

Allkept stores links, the public preview details of those links, a copy of the preview image, and whatever you write yourself. It does not download, copy, host or re-publish videos, audio or full posts. Playback happens through the platform's own embed, and every card links back to the original.

Notifications

Allkept can tell you when a save has landed or when one needs something from you. Notifications are service messages about your own library, not marketing. They are off until you turn them on, you can turn them off again at any time in Settings, and your phone's own settings override ours. A notification names the save it is about, so it may show a save's title on your lock screen — the Privacy Policy explains what that involves.

Automatic sorting can be turned off

Sorting saves into categories is on by default and can be switched off in Settings, in which case saves arrive uncategorised. Search indexing is a separate thing and stays on; see the Privacy Policy for exactly what that means.

3. Who may use it

You must be at least 18 years years old, and old enough under the law of your country to enter into this agreement. If your country sets a higher age for consenting to the processing of your personal data, that higher age applies.

Allkept is for personal use by an individual. You must not create an account on behalf of a company, a brand, a bot or another person.

You must not use Allkept if you are barred from doing so under any law that applies to you, or under the rules of any platform you connect to it.

4. Your account

• You sign in with Google or with Apple. Keep control of whichever you use — anyone who has it has your Allkept library.
• If you sign in with Apple and choose Hide My Email, the relay address Apple gives us is the only address we have for you. Keep it working if you want to hear from us.
• One person, one account. Do not share your account or let anyone else use it.
• Everything done through your account is treated as done by you.
• Tell us at hi@allkept.app if you think someone else has got into your account.

5. Connecting Instagram, YouTube and imports

Instagram

You connect Instagram by sending a six-character code to @allkeptapp. That code links whichever Instagram account sent it to whichever Allkept account requested it — so do not give your code to anyone else, and do not send someone else's code. A code expires after ten minutes and can be used once.

We reply in that thread to confirm a save. You can stop those replies at any time by sending stop replies, or from Settings. We only ever message people who have messaged us first, and we never post anything on your behalf.

Some Instagram post shares arrive without the original link because Instagram does not include one. Those saves stay incomplete until you supply the link. That is a platform limitation, not a fault we can fix.

YouTube

You give us the link to a playlist. We read it periodically with our own YouTube API key and turn new videos in it into saves. We do not ask for, receive or store your Google or YouTube account credentials, and we can see nothing on YouTube except that one playlist. The playlist must be public or unlisted; YouTube shows Watch Later and Liked videos to nobody, including us. Disconnect it at any time in Settings.

Importing your older saves

You may upload the "saved posts" export Meta gives you, so that your existing Instagram saves appear in Allkept. Upload only an export of your own account. We read the Instagram post links out of it and delete the file immediately afterwards.

6. The platforms' own rules

Allkept is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Meta, Instagram, YouTube, Google, OpenAI, Apple or any other company named here. All trademarks belong to their owners.

When you connect a platform to Allkept, that platform's own agreement with you continues to apply, and you must keep to it. In particular:

• Instagram: the Instagram Terms of Use.
• YouTube: Allkept's YouTube door uses YouTube API Services. By using it you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Allkept reads only the playlist you name, and only the public details of the videos in it — their ids, titles and dimensions. It does this with Allkept's own API key, and holds no authorisation on your Google or YouTube account, so disconnecting the playlist in Settings is what revokes our access to it. Separately, the Google account you use to sign in to Allkept can be reviewed and its access revoked at the Google security settings page — note that revoking it there stops you signing in, and does not by itself delete your Allkept library (see Delete your data).

If a platform changes its rules or its access in a way that breaks a door, that door may stop working. We will say so in the app where we can.

7. What you may and may not do

You may use Allkept to keep and organise things for your own personal, non-commercial use.

You must not:

• use Allkept to build a collection, archive, dataset or feed for anyone other than yourself, or to republish, resell or redistribute what you save;
• save content you have no right to access, or use Allkept to get around a platform's privacy settings, paywall, geo-restriction or technical protection;
• save or store anything unlawful — including child sexual abuse material, content that infringes someone's rights, and content that is illegal where you are;
• use Allkept to harass, stalk, monitor or profile another person;
• automate, scrape, bulk-load or otherwise use Allkept other than through the app and the @allkeptapp thread as they are intended to work;
• attempt to reach another user's library, or any part of our systems you have not been given access to;
• probe, load-test, reverse engineer, decompile or interfere with the service, except to the extent a law gives you a right we cannot exclude;
• impersonate anyone, or link an Instagram account that is not yours; or
• remove, obscure or alter any notice of ownership in the app.

We may limit how much you can save, how fast, and how large an upload can be, to keep the service working for everyone.

8. Content: yours, theirs and ours

What creators own

The posts, reels, videos and articles you save belong to whoever made them. Allkept does not transfer any right in them to you. Saving something in Allkept gives you no licence to use it beyond whatever the platform and the law already allowed.

What you own

Your notes, your category corrections, your profile details and your photo remain yours. To run the service we need permission to handle them, so you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, transmit, process and display that content solely in order to provide Allkept to you. It is limited to running the service. It ends when you delete the content or your account. We do not use your content to advertise, we do not show it to other users, and we do not use it to train AI models.

What we own

Allkept — the app, the name, the design, the code and the way it works — belongs to us. You get a personal, revocable, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to use it under these terms. Nothing else is granted.

9. Automatic sorting and search

Allkept sorts saves into categories, writes a one-line summary and extracts tags automatically, by sending the text of the save to a third-party AI provider (currently OpenAI — see the Privacy Policy). Search combines exact matching with meaning-based matching, which sends the words you type to the same provider.

These are automated guesses, not statements of fact. A category can be wrong, a summary can be misleading, and a search can miss something. Do not rely on them for anything that matters. You can change any category yourself, and your correction is never overwritten.

Sorting is not a decision about you and has no legal or similarly significant effect on you.

10. Copyright and takedown

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe something stored by Allkept infringes your rights, write to hi@allkept.app with:

• the link to the original post, and enough detail to identify what has been copied;
• your name and contact details;
• a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law;
• a statement that the information is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them; and
• your signature, physical or electronic.

We will remove the stored preview text and thumbnail we hold for that post. Note that Allkept libraries are private to their owner and consist mainly of links back to your own original post; where a save is only a link, removing our stored preview is the whole of what we hold. We may pass your notice to the user concerned. We will end the account of anyone who repeatedly infringes.

11. Availability and changes

Allkept is a young product and is currently in testing. It is provided as it is, when it is available. We may change, suspend, limit or withdraw any part of it — including a whole door — at any time, with notice where it is reasonable to give notice and without it where it is not.

We do not promise any level of uptime, any processing time, or that any particular save will be captured, previewed or sorted successfully. Platforms fail, rate-limit and change without warning, and some content simply has no public preview.

Allkept is not a backup service. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

12. Price

Allkept is free to use today, and takes no payments of any kind. If we introduce paid features in future, we will say so before they apply to you, and nothing you already have will start costing money without your agreement.

13. Feedback

You can send us feedback from Settings, or write to hi@allkept.app. Please keep it to the product — do not put confidential information, or anyone else's personal details, in a feedback message. It is stored with the app version and platform it came from, and it cannot be read back through the app.

If you send us an idea, a bug report or a suggestion, we may use it freely, without owing you anything and without keeping it confidential. You keep whatever rights you had in it; you are simply letting us act on it.

Feedback outlives your account on purpose. If you delete your account, the message stays but is detached from you: your account link and the address we could have replied to are removed. If you would rather the message went too, ask us and we will delete it. This is set out in the Privacy Policy.

14. Ending this agreement

You may stop at any time. Delete your account from Settings — see the data deletion page — which removes your library and everything else we hold about you, permanently and at once. The single exception is feedback you sent us, which is kept detached from you as described in section 13.

We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we are required to by law or by a platform whose rules you have broken, if your use threatens the service or another person, or if we discontinue Allkept. Where it is possible and lawful, we will tell you first and give you a chance to get your data out.

Sections that by their nature should survive the end of this agreement — ownership, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, governing law and this sentence — do survive it.

15. Disclaimers

ALLKEPT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW WE DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, ACCURATE OR ERROR-FREE.

We do not warrant the accuracy of any category, tag, summary or search result, or of any preview detail fetched from a third-party platform. We are not responsible for the content you save, for the platforms it came from, or for anything those platforms do.

Some countries do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or of consumer guarantees. Nothing here excludes or limits a right you have as a consumer that cannot lawfully be excluded — including under the Indian Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the EU Consumer Rights Directive, the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and equivalent laws.

16. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEITHER ALLKEPT NOR ANYONE ACTING FOR IT WILL BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, DATA OR SAVED CONTENT, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF ALLKEPT, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, AND EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO ALLKEPT IS LIMITED TO the greater of ₹10,000 or US$100.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

17. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against any claim, loss, liability, or reasonable cost arising out of your use of Allkept in breach of these terms, your breach of a platform's rules, or your infringement of anyone else's rights. This does not apply to the extent the claim arises from our own breach or negligence, and it does not apply where you are a consumer and the law does not permit it.

18. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the laws of India, with exclusive jurisdiction in the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved by the laws of India, with exclusive jurisdiction in the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka.

If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, or of your right to bring proceedings in your local courts where the law gives you that right.

Before starting formal proceedings, please write to hi@allkept.app. Most things are quicker to fix that way.

19. If you installed from the App Store

These additional terms apply and, where they conflict with the rest of this agreement, they prevail:

• This agreement is between you and Allkept only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
• Your licence to use the app is a non-transferable licence to run it on an Apple device you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
• If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (which for Allkept is zero). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation at all.
• Allkept, not Apple, is responsible for any claim relating to the app: product liability, a failure to conform to a legal requirement, and claims under consumer protection or similar law.
• Allkept, not Apple, is responsible for investigating and resolving any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual property rights.
• You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

20. If you installed from Google Play

Your use of the app is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Google is not a party to this agreement and is not responsible for the app.

21. General

• Changes. We may update these terms. The date at the top changes with them, and where a change is material we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Allkept after that means you accept the new terms; if you do not, delete your account.
• Whole agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us about Allkept, and replace anything said before.
• Severability. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
• No waiver. If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
• Assignment. You may not transfer this agreement. We may transfer it to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of the business, on notice to you.
• Notices. We may reach you by email, in the app, or in the @allkeptapp thread. You reach us at hi@allkept.app.
• Force majeure. Neither of us is liable for a failure caused by something outside reasonable control.
• Language. These terms are written in English. A translation is provided for convenience only; the English version governs.
